Wariha Tetsu Mosaic Damascus Chef

This guy is quite the head turner. This is a mosaic “Faux San Mai” pattern. It gives the appearance of a san mai pattern, but is done by stacking up a 4-way billet with W’s damascus and leaving one corner solid 1080 steel. If you aren’t a knifemaker that might not make sense to you. Basically San Mai is a Sand-wich. Typically composing of 3 pieces of steel, with the middle/core being good steel for the edge of the knife. When you grind the bevels on a knife that core steel is revealed and holds the cutting edge. This is just a different construction method to get that same aesthetic.

This knife has a vintage linen micarta bolster and a blue/green dyed curly maple handle. It is incredibly lightweight, with the thickest part of the blade somewhere between 0.080 - 0.090 inches at the thickest! It’s a kitchen laser and a beautiful laser.
